Below you'll find select snippets from a few of the artists I've been lucky enough to work with. Whether producing, mixing, or mastering, I make sure to leave a song shining and conveying its message exactly the way it should.
Before & After
Rodry C - Empty Cup
MyNameEscapesMe -
White Noise
Flynn - Thought
Rodry C. is yet to release any of his work, but this lo-fi track draws you in like no other. My goal here was to bring the drums to life, and pull all the mud from Rodry's vocal whilst maintaining his warmth.
MyNameEscapesMe writes emotional and personal songs which span all genres. I took this track from demo to completion - listen for the added instrumentation, vocal effects, and the way the bass drum pounds through.
An up-and-comer in New Zealand, Flynn produces a unique and catchy sound every time. His home recording was a little choppy, I focussed on getting his vocals right to the front of the mix, and adding some movement in the stereo space, keeping the listener engaged.
Mark Mathews -
You're My Saturday
Vanguarde -
The Wrong Track
MyNameEscapesMe -
Mother Taught Me
Mark is an award-winning artist from London, famed for his vast vocal performances and large projects. It's crucial to get the right balance all of Mark's multiple vocals, guitars, pianos, drums, and the rest. With everything in the right place, it speaks for itself.
Vanguarde is the recording vehicle for Ben Ellis, a rock force to be reckoned with! The key was adding grit to his voice to suit the genre, I also wrote a new bassline for this song to give it that extra oomph!
I was trusted to handle this highly emotional track, creating a spacious but dark mix. There was a story to tell with this song, and all I tried to do was bring the artist's vision so that it could be heard in just the right way.
Except Elephant -
Dreamers of Tomorrow
This was my first time working with dream pop, and although the process was a bit different, I was pleased to find the end result still incredibly captivating. Find it on streaming services, and hear how the outro screams with raw emotion.
Except Elephant -
The Darkest of Places
My second time working with the exceptionally creative Except Elephant, this time focusing on making the track pump with the frustration coming from the lyrics, and using the whisper track to make it feel like she's telling you the story, secretly.
S.W.A.L.K
Seána approached me with a set of lyrics and a concept for an E.P that was a storyboard of sorts; a set of pictures that evoked feelings around each song that she needed to express. Over the course of a summer, we created 'Sealed With A Loving Kiss' (S.W.A.L.K.) - a musical letter to a lost love. I wrote and recorded all of the instrumentation, engineered her vocals, and mixed and mastered each of the tracks. Below you can see the concept boards for each track, and how I took them from demo to radio-ready.
Track 1 - Don't Worry Darling

Track 2 - Swings & Roundabouts

Track 3 - Lovin' Is Easy

Track 4 - Best Laid Plans

Track 5 - Easier Said Than Done

Track 6 - Object Permanence
